Departing San Jose International Airport to the south in Cessna 7560D.

(Other detail explanation is HERE

1) Get weather information

ATIS: @126.95MHz

"San Jose Airport information Alfa, 2047Zulu, wind from 300 at 15, altimeter 2996, temperature 20 dew point 15, few cloud at 5000, taxi way Mike closed, inform at initial contact, you have information Alfa."

Write down those information and refer for the Instrument setting and take off.

Although I don't think it is necessary to translate above dialog into plane language, it means "Airport terminal information Alfa released at 20:47 standard time. Wind is blowing from 300 degree at 15 knot. For Altimeter setting, barometer is 19.96 inch, temperature 20 degree, dew point 15 degree. There are few clouds at 5000 feet. and taxi way Mike is closed"

2) Departure Clearance delivery @180.00MHz

Pilot) "San Jose Clearance, Cessna 7560D"

ATC) "Cessna 7560D, go ahead"

Pilot) "Cessna 7560D, VFR to south with Alfa"

ATC)"Cessna 7560D, San Jose clearance, fly runway heading, maintain VFR, departing frequency 120.10, squawk 2045"

Pilot) "Fly runway heading, maintain VFR, 120.10 and squawk 2045"

ATC) "Cessna 7560D, read back is correct"

San Jose International Airport is relatively big and set as Class C airspace. All aircraft should contact ATC before entering or departing this area. From the ground, you need to get permission to departure from "clearance delivery".

Above example, I requested to south by Visual Flight Rule and got "after taking off, going strait until being said to turn, set a transponder code as 2045, and after take off, contact departure control at 120.10Hz".

Pilot has to read back all the instruction to certify understand all instruction collectly.

3) Taxi Clearance to run-up area @121.70MHz

Pilot) "San Jose Ground, Cessna 7560D, at San Jose Jet Center, taxi to runway 29 run-up area"

Ground Control) "Cessna 7560D, following Piper, taxi to run-up"

Pilot) " taxi to run-up following piper"

(After done before take off check list)

Pilot) "San Jose ground, taxi to 29"

Ground) "Taxi to 29"

This is to get a permission for taxi to runway.

4) San Jose Tower Controller @ 120.70MHz

Pilot) "San Jose Tower, Cessna 7560D, ready for take off"

Tower) "Cessna 7560D, hold short for landing traffic"

Pilot) "Holding short, Cessna 7560D"

Tower) "Cessna 7560D, Cleared to take off, caution wake nurturance Boeing 747 departed 2 minutes ago"

Pilot) "Cleared for take off 29, Cessna 7560D"

Tower) "Cessna 7560D, radar contact, say altitude"

Pilot) "500, Cessna 7560D"

Tower) "Roger"

Tower) "Cessna 7560D, turn heading 140"

Pilot) "140, Cessna 7560D"

(after few minutes)

Pilot) "Cessna 7560D, contact departure, have a good flight"

Pilot) "contact departure, good day"

Now it is departure time. Change a frequency to control tower after stop at stop line before entering runway. In  this example, pilot was said to wait as there came landing plane.

5) Bay departure control @ 120.10MHZ

Pilot) "Bay departure, Cessna 7560D, 1500, climbing to 3500"

Departure) "Cessna 7560D, roger"

Departure) "Cessna 7560D, traffic at 11 o'clock, at 2000 feet indicated 3 miles"

Pilot) "traffic in sight, Cessna 7560D)

Departure) "Cessna 7560D, additional traffic 2 o'clock 2 mile at 3000"

Pilot) "Looking for traffic, Cessna 7560D"

Departure) "Cessna 7560D, traffic no factor, resume own navigation"

Pilot) "roger, resume own navigation, Cessna 7560D"

Departure) "Cessna 7560D, radar service terminated, squawk 1200, frequency change approved, good day"

Pilot) "Squawk VFR, good day"

Pilot was told to change a frequency to Bay departure control. Pilot was alerted to avoid possible traffic conflict twice, and then could fly freely.
